BALERI

Headed by Isidoro Fratus, Hub Design aims to provide a common ground and an appreciation of the great brands of Italian design.

The Baleri Italia brand, a furniture and home accessories company founded in 1984, has been acquired by Hub Design, a company established by AVM Associati with the aim of pooling and cultivating the great brands of Italian design.

Baleri Italia, whose distinguished history also encompasses Research and Development, now comes under the leadership of the CEO of Hub Design, Isidoro Fratus, someone who can boast extensive experience at the helm of leading furnishing companies such as Alias and MDF Italia.

The aim of the operation is to take the “Gallo Rosso” ("Red Rooster"), the symbol of Baleri Italia, to a position as a leading player in the world's most distinguished furniture sales outlets, taking advantage of its long history of high level design development, which ranges from the talent scouting of names such as Philippe Starck, Hannes Wettstein and Luigi Baroli to the partnering with previously established designers like Alessandro Mendini, Angelo Mangiarotti, Denis Santachiara, to name but a few.

Hub Design aims to bring together other companies in the design sector under one roof in order to create synergies able to provide innovative furnishing products. Through research and cutting-edge technology, together with a combination of aesthetics and technology, beauty and convenience, Hub Design will be able to increase market presence and competitiveness.

"The projects and objects from the Baleri Italia collection will once again prove themselves to be a perfect synthesis of technology and industrial design - says Isidoro Fratus - and will carry the hallmark of a rigorous functionality that is always tied to a strong focus on the practical dimension of the current market and the consumer".

Commenting on the operation, Giovanna Dossena, CEO of AVM Associati, declared: “Baleri Italia is a perfect example of a brand that  best represents Italy abroad, but it is one that can offer a great deal more to the design world given sufficient funding and strategic support in the distribution phase".
